About the Position

As a construction claims adjuster, you will manage the entire claims adjustment process, from the moment a claim is filed until any compensation has been paid out. With the customer's best interests in mind, it is your and your colleagues' responsibility to develop and streamline our claims adjustment process.

Your main tasks will include

  • Receiving claims
  • Clearly and helpfully informing about how the insurance applies
  • Assessing repair costs and determining the compensation to be paid out.

You will handle both larger and smaller damages to private homes and vacation properties. Later on, when you are more experienced, it may involve housing associations and smaller properties. The work is predominantly office-based and involves a lot of contact via phone and digital channels with customers, inspectors, construction contractors, as well as cost calculations and administrative tasks. There will also be damage inspections and site visits to our customers in Norrbotten to a lesser extent.

The position entails a lot of personal responsibility as you will investigate and make decisions on compensation issues based on insurance terms, practices, and applicable legislation. You will have the support of your colleagues in the team who always assist and help each other.

About You

You do not need any prior experience in the insurance industry or claims adjustment, as we will provide internal training. We want you to have practical experience from the construction industry in a role such as carpenter, project manager in construction, electrician, plumber, or equivalent. In this role, you should see computers and phones as natural working tools, and it is important that you have good communication skills in both spoken and written form.

If you have knowledge of MEPS (a process and calculation support) and experience from claims adjustment/insurance industry, it is a plus.

Personal Qualities

As a person, you are meticulous, responsible, and leave nothing to chance. It is natural for you to look ahead, collaborate with your colleagues, and find the best solution for the customer. In your work, you meet people in difficult situations, and it is important that you are trustworthy, secure, and clear in your interactions.

To thrive in this role, you need to:

  • Be self-driven and energetic
  • Enjoy solving problems
  • Be service-oriented and communicative

We want you to be comfortable making decisions and able to justify them in a factual manner. You are good at expressing complex issues simply and keeping your cases organized. You are a team player who shares knowledge and contributes to a community and a workplace where we can all thrive.

The position involves travel to other locations, hence a driver's license is required.

A background check will be requested.
